Finance Team Leader

The Finance Team Leader post is responsible for leading, facilitating and developing the Union’s Finance function, including but not limited to delivery of financial processes, payroll, bank reconciliations, Sales & Purchase ledger, monitoring of budgets.

The right person will have excellent attention to detail, a competent user of IT, particularly Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive and the ability to work well in a team. They will be part of a team of 5 that delivers all areas of Finance, HR and Central Administration activity for The Union.

General Responsibilities include

  • Lead of financial procedures, including providing information to staff
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Sales Ledger
  • Updating budgets and answering budget questions
  • Training staff and students on Xero
  • Line management of assigned staff
  • Report writing on assigned tasks
  • Working with external partners and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders

Skills you will need

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and good at prioritising tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with others
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Good IT skills including Excel and Word
  • Desirable, but not essential - have worked with a cloud based accounting system
