Event Information

What to meet and chat with other student parents while you keep your kids entertained? Join UPSU for a virtual movie matinee and chat with your peers!

You will need your own personal Netflix account to access this screening. You will also need to be able to use a laptop and download the Teleparty extension. To do this you must use Google Chrome and be on a laptop. Go to chrome://extensions and search for Teleparty. The logo is a red 'TP'. Make sure you do this in advance as the downloading can take some time. You can always plug your laptop into the TV using an HDMI cable to make it as easy as possible for your kids to watch!

To join this party, you'll need to sign up for the event. You will be emailed a link to join up to 15 minutes before it is due to start. You can join the party at any time, though the movie will start promptly so make sure to join on time or you'll miss part of the movie.

We will also be showing Despicable Me 1 and have a physical screening of each Lego Movie 1 & 2 during the week to help keep the kids entertained throughout the half term holiday.

NOTE: During this Netflix Party we aim to create a safe digital space for all students to enjoy our event. With this in mind, please be respectful to others within this space. This includes but is not limited to 1) zero tolerance to any comments or slurs inciting racist, sexist or homophobic/transphobic intention, 2) zero tolerance to any harassment or bullying of other Netflix Party attendees. There may be profanities within the comments section during the event, however, our moderators will ensure that content is kept ‘clean’ where possible. Repeated offenses may result in the movie party being closed down either temporarily or completely. With this in mind, in attending this event, you accept that profanity, though not likely, is a possibility and acknowledge that though this is intended to be a child-friendly event, UPSU cannot control what students choose to post.

Please note that failure to comply with the statement above may result in cancellation of the Netflix Party event with immediate effect, in order to keep fellow attendees safe. We understand that this may cause some frustration amongst attendees. Note that we are doing our best to ensure everyone’s safety and to foster a community where our PGM students feel safe to participate in activity. Those who fail to comply will be reported where possible.
