Being gay doesn’t define if you can do a sport. That’s been proven with people like Gus Kenworthy and Gareth Thomas. I’ve never let it define me, I focus on showing my skill because that’s what matters. When I first played football, everyone thought I couldn’t do it but I wanted to prove them wrong. People were like ‘oh a gay guy can’t play football’. Everyone has this perception that a gay guy is super feminine and it’s so annoying. It’s degrading because it makes you feel as though you’re not an equal. Why would my sexual preference dictate my ability to play a sport well?
