We are looking for a creative, confident and enthusiastic student to help bring student life and the work of the Students’ Union to life.

As our Student Engagement & Content Ambassador, you’ll be our student presence at Union events and activities, capturing authentic student experiences through video, photography and social media content. You’ll also work directly with our Elected Officers, helping them film, create and edit content, communicate their work and maintain an engaging digital presence.

You’ll work alongside our wider Marketing team, bringing your own student perspective, ideas and creativity to the way we communicate with students.

This is an average of 15 hours per week during term time, with hours reduced outside of term time. Some evening and weekend work may be required to support Union events, with hours agreed in advance.

Skills you’ll need:

• A good understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and an awareness of current trends.
• Confidence creating engaging content, particularly video, photography and short-form social media content.
• Experience using design and content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
• Confidence using digital platforms and content management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence approaching and working with students, staff and Elected Officers.
• The ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with others.
• Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment.
• A willingness to work some evenings and weekends when required, with appropriate notice.

UPSU employs approximately 35 career staff, a further 35 student staff and we work with over 1000 registered student volunteers and over 100 student groups.
