Elected Officers

Meet Your Elected Officers

Elected Officers spend a year at the Union and are paid to be responsible for a particular area of the Union. Click on each of the Elected Officers below to check out their manifesto points:

Elected Officers ensure that Union activities are continually being developed in order to allow more opportunities for you as students

The Elected Officers (EOs) are all representatives of the student voice. This means that the EOs speak on behalf of you as students at the University of Portsmouth at internal and external meetings to guarantee students are always being heard.

To make sure the right person is representing you in these positions, each year the Union holds an annual election. This is one of the biggest events of the year with all candidates travelling around the campus with posters, flyers and banners in order to speak to you as students and let you know what they want to achieve for you. You then get to vote on the individuals you would like to see running the Union and representing you the following year.

Develop Your Skills as an Elected Officer

Thinking about running next year? Becoming a full-time Elected Officer gives you the opportunity to develop advanced skills that look great on your CV and enhance your employability.

Spending a year (or two) leading the Union and working on student issues is an intensive but rewarding challenge that will give you real-world experiences you can call upon after your time at Portsmouth.
