Who are we? Your Student Council

Student Council is the primary student-led decision making body at University of Portsmouth Students' Union (UPSU). Our Student Councillors (together with our Elected Officers) work together to tackle issues and run campaigns which affect all parts of student life, from your course to the wider University experience.

Our Student Council is made up of a group of elected student representatives including the 5 Elected Officers, Faculty Reps, Student Liberation Officers and Student Experience Officers.

The Student Council will meet approximately every four weeks in 2024/25.

Elected Officers

The Student Officers are a collection of students who represent students based on a range of issues. Liberation Officers may represent students regarding anything on the Liberation Campaign, and Student Experience may represent students on anything regarding Student Experience.

Our Student Council Chair (Union Chair) ensures that student council runs smoothly and that all voices within council are heard.

We are currently updating our processes and we will be recruiting for our Council Members soon! Please check back regularly for opportunities.
