Free Independent Advice
Students on Approved Schemes at an Associated University or College
Students studying at partner colleges, such as Sparsholt are often entitled to membership of the Student Union with some restrictions (such as being able to run in the student elections). If you are a student of a partner University/College and wish to find out more about your Student Union membership, please contact hello@upsu.net
Right to Opt Out
Should you wish to opt out of membership you must send separate written notice (by writing or in email) to the Chair of UPSU Trustee Board and the University Data Protection Officer. If you exercise your right to opt out of membership with the Students’ Union then you will remain a non-member, withdrawing all rights of membership, for the remainder of the academic year. If you wish to opt out in subsequent years, you will need to annually write to the Lead Elected Officer to exercise your right of opt out.
Fees information
Many clubs and societies have a membership cost to cover your participation in group activities. These fees vary depending on the club/group and their activity, fees cover costs such as insurance, venue hire but we do have several groups that are free to join as well as a Participation fund that you can apply for if you are struggling to find the money to join group activities

The Union has been part of the MINDFUL EMPLOYER® initiative since 2012. MINDFUL EMPLOYER® provides access to information and support for staff who experience stress, anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions.
How We Are Run
TRUSTEE BOARD
The Board of Trustees ensures that the Union is being run and managed to a high standard.
Board Of Directors
The Board of Directors governs the Union’s trading company separately from our trustees.
There are multiple sub-committees that report to charity trustees.
