At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

A great opportunity to come and talk to academic staff at your university about their work on sustainability!
The panel members include:
- Professor Anne Murphy - Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), chairs the University's Sustainability Strategic Delivery Group in collaboration with the Director of Estates and Campus Services and the Director of the Sustainability and the Environment research theme. This is an opportunity to learn about the University's sustainability working group!
- Professor Lisa Jack - Professor of Accounting in the Faculty of Business and Law, one of the few accounting researchers to investigate the agri-food industry. Food is a huge cause of individual's carbon footprints (which you can learn all about at the Carbon Literacy Session) so this is an opportunity to learn about Lisa's research on the food and drink industry.
- Doctor Chris Jones - Associate Professor for the Department of Psychology. Chris has done a lot of research surrounding Psychological aspects of sustainability. This panel will be a great opportunity to learn about Environmental Psychology!
- Professor Jim Smith - Professor of Environmental Science in the School of the Environment, Geography and Geosciences. Jim teaches a module "The Science of Zero Carbon" and has a lot of experience regarding low carbon energy sources and the challenges of Net Zero. Perfect to learn more about the carbon outputs from various energy sources.
The session will be facilitated by Laurence Judd, the Sustainability and Accessibility Exec.
Q&A
After the talks there will be a Q&A session where you can ask academics questions regarding their work around sustainability. If you want to submit any questions now, you can do so with this form
