Amnesty International Society
Society
We are a student-led society seeking to cultivate humanitarian justice by spreading awareness and engaging with a variety of global issues. Amnesty International is the world's largest grassroots human rights organisation, with a global movement of over 10 million people. By using Amnesty International’s established legacy, we plan to continue to examine and uncover transgressions, educate and mobilise students alongside members of the public.
At the Amnesty International society we believe it’s important for young aspiring professionals to be equipped with the skills and experiences to inspire real world change in their communities. So, what do we do? We meet fortnightly in which each member is assigned a country/region to explore current issues. They will then feed this back to society meetings where we will debate, share ideas, and devise strategic plans on where we fit in to make an impact. We also aim to explore local issues too.
Of course, we will arrange to have fun social nights too! We understand students are busy so we don't expect you to attend every session, just the one's you're interested in. We can't wait to have you on board!
