Amnesty International Society
Society
Are you an activist? If so look no further! We are the University of Portsmouth's leading voice for the protection of global human rights. It is our aim to bring together a strong group of like minded activists from all walks of life and perspectives. No issue is too insignificant for discussion because, above all, we want to promote conversation and discourse. Our society campaigns on issues in line with that of amnesty internationals such as freedom of expression, refugee rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, the climate crisis, prisoners of conscience, and ending torture, violence and discrimination worldwide.
At the Amnesty International society we believe it’s important for young aspiring professionals to be equipped with the skills and experiences to inspire real world change in their communities and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your perspectives and employability.
Of course, we will arrange to have fun social nights too! We understand students are busy so we don't expect you to attend every session, just the one's you're interested in. We very much look forward to seeing you!
