What's On

At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Student Groups are a great development opportunity and a great place to find new friends, build a community and have a sense of belonging whilst at University!

Winter Pop-Up Pantry

Want to spend less on household items and essentials? Come to the Winter Pop-Up pantry where you can grab up to 10 items for just £5.

The Winter Pop-Up Pantry was created to support students with the cost of living crisis, especially so during the colder months when prices tend to go up.

Located in the Foyer of the Students’ Union, the pantry is open on Wednesdays (2:00AM-4PM) and Fridays (10:00AM-12:00PM) and all you have to do is scan your student ID and pay £5. After, you can select up to 10 items of your choice - from cupboard to household items.

FAQ:

I came to the popup pantry last week, can I use it again?

> Of course you can, but you’ll have to pay £5 each time.

Can I grab multiple of the same item?

> Yes, as long as it fits within the 10 item limit. The household items section is limited to 3 items, but you can make up the rest from the essential section and grab multiple of the same item. You'll also receive a goodie bag with sauce sachets.

Do you cater for allergens?

> Yes, we hand out gluten free pasta at request and all items are labelled with allergen information.

Do any of the items contain protein?

> The essential section has canned tuna, hotdog and beans.
