The New CEO of UPSU

Join us in congratulating Fern Lewis in her appointment of CEO of The Students' Union!

We are delighted to announce that Fern Lewis has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (UPSU).

Fern brings over 15 years of experience working within UPSU, during which time she has built a deep understanding of the organisation, cultivated strong and collaborative relationships with the University, and remained a passionate advocate for student experience and staff wellbeing.

Fern originally joined UPSU leading the Advice Service and has most recently served as Deputy Chief Executive. This journey reflects her dedication to the student community and her ongoing commitment to delivering impactful change and support for both students and staff.

On her appointment, Fern said:

I’m absolutely delighted to begin my role as CEO of Portsmouth Students’ Union, an organisation I’ve had the privilege of working within for the past 15 years. It’s a real honour to now lead a Union that plays such a vital role in shaping the student experience. I am proud to champion our student-led values and I look forward to working closely with the student body, staff, and university to build on our strong foundations and drive positive change that empowers every student to thrive.
