At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

AMM Results
The results for the Annual Members Meeting 2020 are in!

The voting has been open for the past 24 hours and now the results can be revealed.
For the minutes of the previous meeting. There were a total of 45 votes cast. 33 students approved the minutes. There were 12 abstentions.
The UPSU Charity financial report received a total of 50 votes. 43 students approved the report. 7 abstained.
The PSUT trading company financial report received a total of 45 votes. 32 students approved the report, 12 abstained and 1 did not approve.

For the Policy Lapse items the results are as follows:
Drug Detection in Halls Motion
There were a total of 84 votes. There were 5 abstentions. 37 students voted for the motion. 42 students voted against the motion. This means Drug Detection in halls is no longer a policy of the union.
Anti-FGM Stance
There were a total of 78 votes. There were 6 abstentions. 71 students voted for the motion. 1 student voted against the motion. This means the Anti-FGM stance remains Union policy and will be taken to our Student Council to discuss it’s re-implementation.
Free Education Motion
There were a total of 77 votes. There were 4 abstentions. 63 students voted for the motion. 10 students voted against the motion. This means the Union retains it’s stance on Free Education and this item will be taken to our Student Council to discuss it’s real-implementation.
Introduce a Zero Tolerance to Racism Policy
There were a total of 181 Votes. There were 4 abstentions. 173 students voted for the motion. 4 voted against the motion. This means Student Council will now discuss the implementation of a Zero Tolerance to Racism Policy.
Please note that the minutes and the PSUT trading reports didn’t quite reach the engagement of 50 students that we required. As a result we will be liaising with the UPSU trustee board to ascertain next steps on these items.
