What's On

At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Student Groups are a great development opportunity and a great place to find new friends, build a community and have a sense of belonging whilst at University!

We want to share an important update about our leadership at The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union.

Our Chief Executive, Anna Clodfelter, has made the decision to move on from UPSU. We are incredibly grateful for her leadership and the significant contributions she has made during her 11 years with us. Her last day will be the 21st March 2025.

As we navigate this transition, we want to reassure you that nothing will change in the support and services we provide. To ensure continuity, we are pleased to announce that Fern Lewis, current Deputy Chief Executive, has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive. She brings a wealth of experience and dedication, and will provide steady leadership during this period. Brendan McCarthy and Cherelyn Cuthbert will step into the roles of Deputy CEOs.

The recruitment process for a new Chief Executive has already begun. We are committed to involving student representatives in this process to ensure your voices are heard in shaping the future leadership of UPSU.
