Manifesto

From what I have seen in pole so far I know that it is a society full of wonderful people who care, respect and look out for eachother. From when I joined I have had the most welcoming response and made an abundance of friends who have made my whole first year at university extremely wonderful. Coming from a place which is extremely far away from home I can offer my sympathies to how difficult it can be living away from home and offer my methods as to how I coped with this. One of these methods was through the support and connection that the amazing group of people offered me at pole dance. I would love to offer myself as part of the committee as it would be a great experience for me to gain valuable experience and learn more as I can also give back to pole at the same time. Coming so far away from Yorkshire I seeked out university as a fresh start, I had little to no social life and I craved the community aspect of university. By joining pole dance I gained that and that’s why it would be hugely important for me to give back to individuals in the society and be a part of something that matters and helps with the happiness of people’s lives. Pole hosts an abundance of huge benefits such as mental health support, boosts confidence, acts as a platform to make new friends and challenges social norms around strength and femininity giving off a sense of empowerment. I would like to create an environment where different university societies can connect with eachother and where everyone feels safe and comfortable and perhaps seek out pole as their opportunity to have fun. Sober socials can be extremely fun and consist of things such as pamper nights, coffee shop trips, days at the beach( including fun activities), nature walks(with music and vibes), pottery classes and even make your own mocktail and movie nights. This ties in nicely with the big and little scheme with helps out someone new to pole and allows them to seek comfort and guidance in an experienced member. I would like to raise money for charities such as cancer research Uk through events such as walks, pretty mudder , shows with professional dancers leading to an end of year party, black ties events, buddy link ups with other societies to complete set tasks in aid of raising money for charity. I would love to be part of the creation of Wednesday night socials and ensure that lots of opportunities arrive for joint socials with other societies and also amazing pole socials with fun games and activities to get everyone involved and allow for people to really get to know each other. Some fun ideas are dress as your type, cops and robbers and disco. I would also suggest adding a fun initiation into pole to make it special for when people are joining.

I would like to raise money for charities such as cancer research UK, Macmillan and UNICEF.

I would like to do sober socials such as bake offs to raise money for charity.

I would like to give my ideas for Wednesday night socials these are a great way to meet new people.

Manifesto

Unfortunately, pole dancers can have a negative perception in society. But I want to prove that we are the best, kind, supportive, and give back to the community.
I love trying new things and testing my limits whilst embracing the talents members of our society have. I have Contacts within multiple societies, such as hockey, dance, rugby, football, netball and more. I am not afraid to take the next step, put our name out there, contact charities, and advertise our events. I will listen to the society, vote on which charities we want to support, and make recommendations. I’m an organised and focused individual who frankly hates being late. Therefore, I won’t mess around, especially with planning—I’ll always do it in advance.
I am aware of risk management at my job at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, which includes first aid training and counterterrorism.
Experience:
I have participated in many sponsored walks for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), volunteered for the RLSS by teaching new parents CPR on children, volunteered for Girlguiding and was a part of the local council (youth voice)

Host a showcase to demonstrate our skills while promoting the event and encouraging participation.

Be open to the society by embracing members' ideas to enhance our fundraising efforts.
