The UoP paramedic society has been curated specifically for student paramedics studying BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science at the University of Portsmouth. 

Being a member of the UoP paramedic society will open exclusive avenues in addition to the brilliant opportunities which are offered by the university specification and placements in South Central Ambulance Service. 

For example:

Workshops- we can use the state of the art facilities that are available to us at the university and work together to support you with knowledge, skills and most importantly, OSCE preparation, in a safe environment with fellow students. There is potential for external workshops as the society grows and develops. These will be arranged by our brilliant workshop secretaries and will provide you with CPD experience and certificates. 

Lectures- we will ask for input from our society members about topics they would like to see lectures on, and we can draw on academic support to present these lectures to you. These lectures will be available to members of the parasoc, alumni, members of the ambulance service, and excitingly potential collaboration with fellow healthcare students. Again, these will be brought to you by our wonderful lecture secretaries, and will provide the same CPD opportunities. 

Socials- it is so important to take time away from the stress the course can bring as a student paramedics, which is why we offer socials to relax and make friends with fellow students from all three years. These events will be put on by our fabulous social secretaries, who will organise something for everyone, no matter your interests. 

Welfare- welfare support is something the UoP parasoc is very passionate about. Welfare secs are there to guide you towards support. Whether that be placement worries, anxieties on nights out, or just needing to reach out about any of your troubles: our compassionate team of welfare secs are here to help!

Along with so many more exciting opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills within paramedic practice, while being a part of the parasoc community.

These opportunities will be brought to you only if you are signed up as a member of the parasoc.
