The Union Awards are tomorrow!

It’s a big day for everyone at the University - but what are the Union Awards?

Tomorrow is a big day in popular culture - our Union Awards.

The what now?

The Union Awards are an opportunity to celebrate all of our successes, and help award our best and brightest with an award for their own contributions. This year, they’re being held at the Union Building on Thursday, May 4th, from 6 to 9pm.

It’s a big party, so as well as awards there will be live music and a few light refreshments. It’s a fancy one, so make sure to bring your black ties!

What kind of awards are there?

Good question. The categories of award we’re giving out this year are as follows;

  • Roxana Negru Spirit of Participation and Involvement Award
  • Full / Half Colours Award
  • Student Staff Member of the Year
  • Course Representative of the Year
  • Outstanding Achievement
  • Special Recognition Award
  • Student Group of the Year
  • Best New Group
  • Group Event of the Year
  • Exceptional Teaching Award
  • Best Academic Society
  • Course Rep of the Year
  • Change Maker Award

Last year was the first year we brought back teaching awards, and this year they’re back again! Good news for your favourite lecturer.

So feel free to come party with us! Tickets are free, and can be found here.
