Your Development Officer, Dan has been busy organising Soulful Celebrations, a vibrant Black History Month event designed for everyone to enjoy. This lively gathering invites the entire community to celebrate culture and unity. Attendees are encouraged to wear their cultural attire and bring a dish that reminds them of home. The event promises an afternoon filled with Afro-Fusion dance performances and uplifting gospel choir music. Open to all, Soulful Celebrations is a family-friendly event, so be sure to bring your friends and loved ones for a joyful experience. CLICK HERE to secure your FREE ticket!
Meanwhile, your Learning Experience Officer, Blessing has been working on improving postgraduate timetables as part of her manifesto. She collaborated with the University to introduce block teaching, beginning this term. Postgraduate lectures will now be scheduled over two to three days each week, replacing the previous four or five-day schedule. This new format aims to reduce commuting costs, give students more time for assessments, and improve class attendance and student engagement.
Both Dan and Blessing are working hard to create positive changes for students, bringing both celebration and academic improvement to the university community.
