At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Student Groups are a great development opportunity and a great place to find new friends, build a community and have a sense of belonging whilst at University!

We know you have been curious about the future of Purple Wednesday and what’s next for your student nights. We’re excited to announce Drift Southsea as your brand-new go-to spot for all Wednesday socials and hangouts (new name coming soon)!

To kick things off, we’re hosting an unforgettable Halloween Party on Wednesday 30th October.

It’s going to be a spooky, fun-filled preview of what you can expect from your new regular student night. With plenty of surprises, great music, and amazing costumes, dressing up is definitely encouraged (AND a prize for the best costume)! 🧙‍♀️🕸️

Listening to your feedback and making improvements to your nights out:

Last year, we held some focus groups with you regarding your official student night out. You told us a few things were important, such as student safety and welfare. You also told us that you found some elements of Purple Wednesdays repetitive or geared towards certain groups and you wanted to see more variety and themed experiences too. So, we’re hyped to team up with Drift, who’ve taken all your feedback on board to bring you something new and exciting. We’re bringing you a student night out you’ll look forward to every week!
