At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

Welcome Month 2020
It’s time for Welcome Month! And it’s time to shake things up.

Congratulations! Coming to university and celebrating your amazing achievements isn’t limited to a single Freshers’ week anymore - oh no. We’ve planned an entire month of fun, free and exciting events and opportunities for you to jump into across October (and even some of November). So, whether you’re a champion quizzer, a savvy sporto or a budding chef, there’s something for everyone.
Welcome Month kicks off with (Virtual) Freshers’ Fayre. But it’s not just a one day Fayre, it’s a week dedicated to Freshers’ Fayre starting on Monday 5th October. That’s right, an entire week just for Freshers’ Fayre, albeit online. Then every week after has it’s own theme ending with Wellbeing and Me week on Monday 9th November. Discover each new step with every week guiding you through a new aspect of your university life.
That means we have something new for you! Every. Single. Week.
Are you moving onto campus in September and are worried you’ll be bored until October? Well there’s no fear of missing out here. There’s events running from Saturday 12th September to keep you entertained and welcome you to the city in style. Not in Portsmouth? Not to worry, you can join in virtually courtesy of Res Life.

Freshers' Fayre Week

Did someone say Freshers’ Fayre? That’s right, it’s back! We’re hosting a virtual Freshers’ Fayre this year on our website. Come and learn about the wide range of support available to you across the University and wider community, chat live to sports clubs and student-led groups to discover a new hobby or finely tune an existing one and see what's on offer for you with our commercial partners. We can’t wait to chat with you online!
