Annual Members Meeting Update
Find out the next steps from AMM 2020.

On Wednesday 9th December 2019 UPSU Held its Annual Members Meeting.
Ahead of the meeting trustees identified that at least 50 students should vote on an item in order for it to be quorate. Student attendance at the meeting was measured using a temperature check of attendees on the Zoom meeting and engagement with the online platform. In total 47 students were in the room for the live event with a total of 181 students logging into the online platform to interact and vote with the content for a 24 hour period following the meeting.
Three items at the meeting; Approval of the AMM Minutes 2019, Review of the Financial Accounts (PSUT) and the Elected Officer Reports failed to receive more than 47 student votes or engagements.
Due to this it was decided to take these items to a sub committee (Student Focus and Governance Committee) of the Union’s Trustees to determine whether enough students had been able to input into the items.
The committee have released the following statement:
The UPSU Board of Trustees sub committee -Student Focus and Governance Committee agree that students have had significant opportunity to view and engage with the PSUT Financial Reports, the minutes of the previous meeting and officer reports through a number of methods including attendance in the meeting, web page views and via question submissions. It is recognised these items were available online prior to the event and remain so now. As such SFG agrees to honour the result of these items.
This decision was based on the engagement stats with the online platform highlighted above alongside additional data which highlighted that the UPSU AMM webpage which was live for a period of 2 weeks prior to the meeting had recorded 330 page views. 279 of these were unique views and the page was viewed on average for 3.5 minutes.
We again would like to thank all those who attended the event. If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to contact Destiny Karakus (Democracy & Campaigns Officer) at destiny.karakus@upsu.net
