An Update on your Democracy & Campaigns Officer 2023/24

In March, you voted in your Student Elections, to decide your Officer Team for the 2023-24 Academic Year.

Maizey Annear started her term as your elected Democracy & Campaigns Officer 2023/24 at the beginning of July. Maizey has this week, handed in her notice as she has been offered an opportunity in the field of work she has been aspiring to for 7 years.

As a Students’ Union, and we are sure the student body would echo, that even during her short term in office and also for a month as Officer Elect, we are grateful for Maizey’s contributions to representing the student voice and her passion for the work of the Students’ Union. 

You may be wondering what the next steps are to deciding what will happen with the Democracy & Campaigns Officer role for the 2023-24 year. We are currently considering a number of options regarding what we will do about the process to refill the role and will hope to update you on the Returning Officers recommendation in the coming week. 

A more detailed communication to students will be published and rolled out once a decision has been made.
