Manifesto

Overview:

Hi everyone, I’m Lia and I am going into my second year, studying Criminology and Criminal Justice. I am running for the role and would love to be your Social Secretary for the year 24/25. I would like to be considered for this position because I feel I have the pertaining skills applicable. Aswell as my current degree, I also study Marketing and Business Management so have in-depth knowledge of admin responsibilities, user engagement incentives, consistency and content calendar management.

What I want to achieve:

I value the importance of good social dynamic so as your Social Secretary I would want to create as many opportunities as possible for people, new and current to socialise with criminology. I find planning events comes to me naturally, and I love finding new ways to meet new people. Therefore, continuing with the great variety of socials, organising in advance and introducing more joint/ sober socials, would greatly increase our attendance. I am ready to take responsibility for ensuring the nights out are organised and make sure everyone (especially freshers) are comfortable, included and enjoy themselves. I am always looking out for other people and making sure everyone is well-looked after. My friends see me as someone they can be comfortable around and can discuss their problems with, no matter the time of day, which I hope is something members can also look to me for.

Ultimately, I want to make sure that the year will be an enjoyable one for every single member of the crim society and form long lasting memories throughout. I promise as a social sec that I will aim to make this year one to remember and keep up the successes for the following.
