York is a captivating and quaint city with a long and fascinating history. For the last 2000+ years, it’s been one of the major cities in the UK, being the crowning place of Emperors, the capital of Viking Kingdoms and the frontier of northern raids. Regardless of your interests there’s plenty to see and do here, with the Jorvik (Viking) Centre, the old city walls, York Minster and Castle museum all within the city centre.
The winding Medieval streets also hold a certain magic with plenty of Wizard-themed shops to browse through, as the Shambles Street was the inspiration behind Diagon Alley from Harry Potter!
Because of the vast variety in the city, a weekend trip is the only way to do the city justice, taking it all in and making the most of this northern jewel.
Your weekend trip Includes:
- Private, return coach travel from Portsmouth
- 2 nights highly-rated Hostel accommodation, with rooms private to the group
- A private, guided walking tour with a professional guide
