The Students’ Union is an independent charity that exists to advance your education at the University of Portsmouth through a range of exciting services and activities. Our mission is to have a positive impact with every Portsmouth student: Students are heard, students are empowered, students thrive.

What's On

At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Student Groups are a great development opportunity and a great place to find new friends, build a community and have a sense of belonging whilst at University!

About Christian Union (CU)

Welcome to the University of Portsmouth Christian Union! We’re so pleased you decided to check out our society page. As a society we believe that every student should have a chance to hear and explore the Good News of Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to find out what it means to be a Christian. Whether you're Christian or not, no matter your country, denomination, religion, or field of study, we’d love to welcome you along to one of our main meetings or our small Bible studies and help you explore Christianity.

We meet weekly on Mondays at 18:45 in W1.08 of Eldon Building. Our meetings consist of a time of sung worship, where we spend time singing our praises to God, followed by a short talk, with time to discuss and ask questions, by either one of our members or a member of the local Christian community.

We believe

There is one God who exists as three persons – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the authoritative Word of God.
All of humanity has sinned and is cut off from God as a result of our sin, and there is nothing that we can do by ourselves to get back to God.
God is loving and wants a relationship with His people, and so He descended as Jesus Christ and chose to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins, and then physically rose from the dead three days later, enabling us to have that relationship with Him, by trusting in Him and following Him.

We’d love to see you at one of our meetings, especially and even if, you don’t believe these statements. We exist for you! So come, ask us why we believe these things or tell us why you don’t.
