At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Re-Open the union bar

The Union should bring back the Union bar to make the student experience better post covid

How Will This Idea Benefit Students?

The Union should bring back and reopen the Union bar to improve the student experience of students in Portsmouth.

After Covid, a lot of students and young people were not able to socialise, go out, meet people or meet up with friends, now that Coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, the Union should reopen the Union bar in order to make sure that those young people can make the most of their time at University

In many venues around Portsmouth, prices are rising as well as the general cost of living, and students have less money than ever - The Union should therefore reopen its own venue to provide an economical service to students and improve the student experience

This bar could be open every day of the week in order to give students a safe space to students while they study and could serve food and drink - or could open on certain days at certain times - for example, on wednesday evenings for club and society socials and during the weekends when students are able to unwind and take a break from studies.

In either way, the students want this and the Union should bring back the bar!
