At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Run the Student Bus Service 24/7

The Student Bus Service should run 24/7, to counter fears about knife crime and promote accessibility to Campus.

How Will This Idea Benefit Students?

Over the past academic year, there has been an increased prevalence of violence against students, particularly at night and in certain areas of Portsmouth.

Having a 24/7 bus service that is free for students would allay these fears and provide student with a free, easily accessible way of getting home without having to worry about personal safety.

Furthermore, allowing students to catch buses to Campus during the weekend - and potentially early hours of the morning - is something I and a number of my peers have hoped would come to fruition. Implementing this idea would allow Uni facilities to become far more accessible to students, especially to 2nd and 3rd year students who often live a fair distance away from Campus.
