Meet your Elected Officers 2021/22!

The votes are in and counted, we can now announce the Elected Officer team for the next academic year.

Over the week 1927 students voted and cast 23,408 votes for the candidates they thought would make the best changes to student life at Portsmouth.

Thank you to everyone who voted. As a result we’ve raised £385.40 for Save The Children.

The successfully elected candidates are as follows:

Academic Representation Officer 2021

The results for the 2021 Academic Representation Officer Election are as follows, there were 1,204 voters who cast 4,581 valid votes for 7 candidates. This election went to 5 rounds.

In the first round of voting No Suitable Candidate was eliminated with 25 votes.

In the second round of voting Abu Ramzan Showrov was eliminated with 32 votes.

In the third round of voting MD Rasel Ahmed was eliminated with 37 votes.

In the fourth round of voting Thanvir Ahmed was eliminated with 160 votes.

Three Candidates made it to the fifth and final round. In the final round Dhyey Dave received 256 votes, Edward John Charles Walls received 339 votes, and Sapphire Rance received 609 votes.

This means that Sapphire Rance has been elected as Academic Representation Officer for 2021/22.

Democracy and Campaigns Officer 2021

The results for the 2021 Democracy and Campaigns Officer Elections are as follows, there were 1,163 voters who cast 4,222 valid votes for 7 candidates. This election went to 6 rounds.

In the first round of voting No Suitable Candidate was eliminated with 22 votes.

In the second round of voting Shafin Zaman was eliminated with 31 votes.

In the third round of voting Abu Kalam was eliminated with 105 votes.

In the fourth round of voting Carol Gouveia was eliminated with 234 votes.

In the fifth round of voting Molly Carpenter was eliminated with 359 votes.

In the final round Maggie Chauhan received 531 votes and Dom Owen received 632 votes.

This means that Dom Owen has been elected as Democracy and Campaigns Officer for 2021/22.

Development Officer 2021

The results for the 2021 Development Officer Elections are as follows, there were 1,236 voters who cast 4,341 valid votes for 7 candidates. This election went to 5 rounds.

In the first round of voting No Suitable Candidate was eliminated with 16 votes.

In the second round of voting Jibrilla Abubakar Tanimu was eliminated with 32 votes.

In the third round of voting Queensly Otoibhi was eliminated with 143 votes.

In the fourth round of voting Joesph Solomon was eliminated with 208 votes.

In the final round Jonny Gilbey received 278 votes, Elysia Hunt received 322 votes, and Mike Kiddell received 636 votes.

This means that Mike Kiddell has been elected as Development Officer for 2021/22.

Learning Experience Officer 2021

The results for the 2021 Learning Experience Officer Elections are as follows, there were 1,431 voters who cast 5,188 valid votes for 7 candidates. This election went to 6 rounds.

In the first round of voting No Suitable Candidate was eliminated with 18 votes.

In the second round of voting Ateeqa Sana Syeda was eliminated with 63 votes.

In the third round of voting Chioni Mumba was eliminated with 107 votes.

In the fourth round of voting Bamidele Shedrach Peter was eliminated with 157 votes.

In the fifth round of voting Jamie Orr was eliminated with 290 votes.

In the final round Forida Rahman received 656 votes and Jade Jessica received 775 votes.

This means that Jade Jessica Underwood has been elected as Learning Experience Officer for 2021/22.

Welfare Officer 2021 - Results

The results for the 2021 Welfare Officer Elections are as follows, there were 1,248 voters who cast 5,076 valid votes for 8 candidates. This election went to 7 rounds.

In the first round of voting No Suitable Candidate was eliminated with 17 votes.

In the second round of voting Abdul-Rahim Seidu was eliminated with 42 votes.

In the third round of voting Ashik Mahmud was eliminated with 67 votes.

In the fourth round of voting Jazmin Stubbings was eliminated with 95 votes.

In the fifth round of voting Rosie Trevett-Smart was eliminated with 227 votes.

In the sixth round of voting Angela Chiwendu Onyetema-Anene was eliminated with 296 votes.

In the final round James Vivian received 512 votes and Natasha Layley received 736 votes.

This means that Natasha Layley has been elected as Welfare Officer for 2021/22.
