At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

The voting has been open for the past 24 hours and now the results can be revealed.
Voting opened 13:00 on Wednesday 24th November and closed 13:00 Thursday 25th November.

For the Policy Lapse items the results are as follows:
Policy Lapse Item One: Rape and Sexual Assault Motion
There were a total of 241 votes. There were 229 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 9 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 3 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
This means the Rape and Sexual Assault motion remains Union policy and will be taken to our Student Council to discuss it’s re-implementation.
Policy Lapse Item Two: Climate Change Motion
There were a total of 216 votes. There were 199 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 10 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 7 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
This means the Climate Change motion remains Union policy and will be taken to our Student Council to discuss it’s re-implementation.
Policy Lapse Item Three: UPSU Bar Motion
There were a total of 229 votes. There were 177 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 35 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 17 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
This means the UPSU Bar motion remains Union policy and will be taken to our Student Council to discuss it’s re-implementation.
Student Motion One: Motion to ensure appropriate support for students struggling due to international crises
There were 194 votes cast in this election.
155 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 30 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 9 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
The result is a vote to SUPPORT the motion. This means UPSU will now discuss the implementation of ensuring appropriate support for students struggling due to international crises.
Student Motion Two: Motion to Introduce an Ethical Partnerships Policy and Review of the Ethical Investments Policy
There were 191 votes cast in this election.
130 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 33 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 28 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
The result is a vote to SUPPORT the motion. This means USPU will now discuss the implementation of an Ethical Partnerships Policy and Review of the Ethical Investments Policy.
Student Motion Three: Motion For UPSU to Adopt the Social Model of Disability
There were 198 votes cast in this election.
173 votes were cast to SUPPORT the motion, 20 votes were cast to ABSTAIN on the motion, and 5 votes were cast to OPPOSE the motion.
The result is a vote to SUPPORT the motion. This means UPSU will now discuss the implementation of UPSU adopting the Social Model of Disability.
In total 1,269 votes were cast across the six voting items. A total of 271 unique voters participated in this process.
