At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! Nominations open on Thursday 29th August at 9am and close on Friday 30th August at 5pm.

Voting will open on Monday 2nd September 9am and close on Wednesday 4th September at 5pm.

As secretary you will play a key role in managing the delivery of the group’s objectives
Be responsible for all communications (social media is delegated to relevant committee member where appropriate)
Be responsible for meeting minutes, distribution, and following up on minute actions
Organise all meetings with President and VP (where relevant) - including AGM, EGM and general meetings, stepping in to chair if President or VP are unavailable
Maintain all membership records via UPSU website, ensuring up-to-date records and actions are reported
Liaise with other committee members (ie events/social sec) on planning of all events
Work with President on communications
Organise storage when needed
Be friendly and approachable
