What's On

At UPSU's Advice Service, we offer confidential, impartial and non-judgemental support on a range of academic and university issues that may affect your experience. Our team of trained advisers are on hand all year round to offer help where it's needed. The independent service works closely with the University of Portsmouth to resolve issues and ensure students are treated fairly.

UPSU are here to represent every student at the University of Portsmouth. We have many ways you can express your student voice, including: our Course Rep system, Have Your Say, Student Council, StART, Hot Topic, Annual Survey, Focus Groups, and more! More lockers around campus for commuter students

Petition Description

Students that commute to uni require space to store their equipment, particularly if part of a society and currently there is nowhere bags can be stored safely

How Will This Idea Benefit Students?

It would greatly benefit all students but particularly 2nd and 3rd year or commuting students if there were lockers available on campus so they would not have to lug all their books/laptop/sports equipment around all day.

Whether this would involve purchasing a locker for the year or putting a deposit down for one (for example £5) so that the number of lockers can be allocated effectively, or whether it is a use when needed service I feel that it would be incredibly useful to have,

While I understand the idea of laptop lockers could help so that commuter students don’t have to bring their laptops with them, this does not always work for all students and many prefer to use their own laptop to study and use in lectures
