The classes of 2020 and 2021 should be entitled to a proper graduation, even if that means postponing it.

The Universities decision to cancel in-person Graduation is a decision taken much too early and principally due to the fact that planning a graduation ceremony would be difficult. I believe the University has not done enough to at least try and look at the logistics of an in-person graduation ceremony, even if this had to be an outdoor event. Cancelling it 5 months in advance is uncalled for.

We demand immediate action from the University of Portsmouth on an injustice that threatens to severely impact our students. We are deeply concerned about the financial impact and inherent unfairness on students who are continuing to pay rent for their term-time accommodation despite being unable to return. Although the University does provide support to some students through their ‘Student Support Fund’ this is not accessible to all, therefore we urge the University to provide students with options for rent relief as soon as possible.

The allocation of funds by the University of Portsmouth, with the aid of the Students Union, in order to purchase rare books and manuscripts, be they printed or handwritten, to help better aid the University's Humanities department, as well as aid in making the University more attractive to applicants. While the University Library does possess a small rare books collection, it has proved of little use to many Humanities students, particularly historians.
