Hi Team,
I Joined university 2 months back and very happy about the educational facilities university provide. However, there are few suggestions from myside:
1. It is good to have microwave ovens installed in the buildings, at least in the café area.
2. please help students with some free hot water in all buildings.
3. Please help students with some discounts in food items that purchase from the university café

Every university building should have an easily accessible water refilling station in its foyer for students to refill water bottles

The uni has recently decided to stop funding Adobe licenses for cci students. Adobe programs are expensive and are, in the modern era, completely necessary for these students to learn the skills that we need to succeed post grad. The university could argue that they accept submissions that aren’t made using Adobe, but (in my experience) have only given tutorials on how to use Adobe software and no other softwares. Third year students don’t have time to learn new software and given that the industry standard is Adobe, learning a new software would be useless to our future careers. The graphic design studio has no where near enough computers with Adobe installed to provide acceptable access to its students, and so those who are not fortunate enough to afford their own computers will lose out on the university provided ones. The uni has spent millions on a sports centre to increase admissions but has only afforded this at the cost of the education of current students. Education is becoming more and more for the lucky few and any future culture that we can hope to develop is being obliterated by cuts to creative subjects.

In 2019 the student bar was closed and since then we've been without one, unlike the majority of university in the country. That's why I say that we should reopen it

Due to Brexit, the university no longer offers support for abroad placements to SMDE students, however, they do in other Universities and in other courses at Portsmouth, so we ask that we get the same support as other courses in abroad placements.

Bringing back essential safety resources to prevent students from being spiked whilst being out which were previously available via the union building. Especially at Union-sponsored events and Union-sponsored partners such as Purple Wednesdays/Tokyo Joe's/Astoria.

Being a student we’ve all had our fair share of nights out, going to bars around Portsmouth is fun, but it’s not the same as a union bar. Having friends in other unis I’ve seen union bars, the atmosphere is unmatched.
Being a first year in a new city, going out is daunting, independent pubs don’t feel as safe and secure and with spicing being something we are all worried about. A union bar creates a level of security, knowing that it’s just students, that have the same worries, we also have dedicated campus security that has consistent training unlike other pubs and bars around Portsmouth.
Finally, being a first year I’ve always felt worried meeting new people, a student bar creates a safe space to meet new people, in a student focused environment that doesn’t break the bank!
